Il Poderetto lies in the heart of the Valley of Gulleys, an EU-recognised site of natural beauty located between Bagnoregio and Civitella d'Agliano near Viterbo, about 20km from the Lake of Bolsena, 15km from Orvieto and 65km north of Rome. The valley is also the site of "Civita di Bagnoregio", a famous and ancient hilltop town accessible only on foot. |
The valley "Parco dei Calanchi", covers over 2,000 hectares of striking landscape characterised by gulleys carved through the clay soil by erosion. Apart from Civita di Bagnoregio, the area takes in Bagnoregio, Castiglione in Teverina, Civitella d'Agliano and Lubriano. The park is designed to protect the area's natural beauties, while encouraging walking, hiking and horseback riding. Another attraction for visitors is the local cuisine |

Il Poderetto covers a whole hill, an area of about 78 hectares. The farmhouse is located on top, giving a full view of the surrounding countryside, from a small lake linked to the river Tiber to Civita di Bagnoregio and the silhouette of Civitella d'Agliano with its castle, built by the Monaldeschi family from Orvieto, opponents of papal rule in the area. At the foot of the hill, there is a stream and, behind the house, ancient grottos with springs and traces of an ancient Etruscan presence. An apartment consisting of two bedrooms, living-room and fully equipped kitchen costs Lit. 160,000 - € 82.63 a day for a week. Discounts are available for longer stays. The price is all-inclusive excluding telephone and daily cleaning. A deposit of Lit. 200,000 - €103.29 is requested in advance, and Lit. 50,000 - € 25.82 for end-of-stay cleaning. |
